The Recipe for delicious Chocolate No-bake Cookies

All funds go to help with Steve's medical condition.

These no-bake cookies are made with oats and chocolate, along with optional peanut butter and other ingredients.

     INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 ounces butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips  or...
  • 3/4 cup of Hershey's Cocoa
  • 1 cup of peanut butter or peanuts, optional
  • 3 cups oats, quick or old-fashioned
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

PREPARATION:

Place chocolate chips, peanut butter (if used), oats, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Combine the margarine, milk, and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute. (Drop a small amount of your boiled mixture into a glass of cold water and see if it forms into a ball). If not, let it boil for a couple more minutes.

Remove from heat, then combine the hot mixture with the oatmeal and chocolate chip mixture; stir well. If you'd like you can also add a cup of peanut butter or half a cup of nuts. Drop spoonfuls onto tin foil or a cookie sheet and let dry for at least an hour. (They always taste better the next day). Don't eat em all yourself, share them.

Additional information, Chocolate chips make the cookies a lighter brown color, however cocoa has a richer color and a little more flavor. They're both delicious!
